I am searching for anyone who may remember my grandfather, Clifford Carl \" CC\" Johnson. I believe he was onboard from June 1, 1943 and am uncertain of when he left, but I know he was in on the torpedo incident off the Coast of Africa. He was a coxswain and Boatswain 2nd class

My grandfather Homer Rice served on the electra during WWII and I wanted to add his name to the list but it keeps saying error so I am adding him here. If anyone knew him I would appreciate any information you have...he also has quite a few pictures I would like to add to the site. He died very young so any information you have on him would be great so I can get to know who he was....

My error I am again submitting a correction to my Shipboard Service Dates. Our entire L Division (Landing Craft) came aboard in July 1943. We all had trained together for three months in ATB Little Creek, VA and then for three months in ATB Ft. Pierce, FL. before being transferred to the AKA-4. MY CONGRATULATIONS ON THE GREAT JOB YOU HAVE DONE AND ARE DOING ON THE WEB SITE. WELL DONE.

My Father was a crew member on the USS Electra from 5/1944 to 1945. Anyone who knew my father Donald Ross Williams I am not sure what part of the ship he served on. But would enjoy hearing about his tour of duty. My father passed on and did not talk much about the time he was in the navy.

I would like to thank you all for the information on this ship. I have been carrying a Zippo lighter, that I purchased in a thrift store, in my pocket since 1979 that bears the USS Electra AKA-4 as well as the ship itself. I have always wondered about it's service to country. rn Now I know. Thanks again. rn Ed T. Pierce
