 0 to 4
 Anchored as before off Mehediya French Morocco in company Trans. 
 Div. 5 vessel in 21 fathoms of water with 120 fathoms of chain out 
 on starbord anchor. Bearings: Breakwater 083°T.  0230 Made preparat-
 ions for getting underway. 0230 Station special sea detail. Hove to 
 short stay. Anchor aweigh. Vessel proceeded in accordance with 
 ComTaskFor 141826 at various courses and speeds standing out of 
 Mehediya roads.  0315 Standard speed 61 RPM. Course 245°T, 
 244 pgr, 225 pgc, 264 pstgc. 50.6 average RPM.

 4 to 8
 Underway as before.  0540 Changed speed to 14 knots 80 RPM.  0609 General
 quarters.  0610 Commenced zigzagging according to Confidential Plan #40 using base course.
 0614 Held steering drill.  0640 torpedo struck ship starboard side about 
 frame 100 thence followed a second explosion from ammunition carried 
 as cargo. Ship's position at attack, Lat. 33-59'N. Long. 7-28'W. Number 3 and
 two holds filled with water.  0650 all engines ahead standard speed, 
 change course to 123°T, headed for beach. Fired three depth charges.  0703 
 Engines stopped on account of water in engines room.  0715 abandoned 
 ship.  0716 Ship Rescue party assembled on house top.  0720 USS Cole (DD155) 
 come alongside to starboard side and took off all crew except Rescue 
 party.

 8 to 12
 Ship disabled as before, sinking slowly.  0845 USS Cherokee came along-
 side to render assistance.  1015 Cherokee took us in tow.  1140 Cast off 
 tow from Cherokee. DD Sandsferry [?] came alongside to take us in tow. 
 Cherokee coming alongside to pump out engine room.

 12 to 16
 Ship disabled as before.  1215 USS Rauen came alongside to starboard to 
 pump out Engine Room.  1350 USS Sandsferry commenced towing us. 
 We now have Sandsfury towing Rauen on Starboard side, Cherokee on 
 port side, Several handy billies and pumps from Cherokee pumping 
 out engine room.

 Ship disable as before.  1640 towing line parted, breaking out mess. line  1710 USS 
 Cherokee taking us in tow.
 1905 USS Auk came alongside port side to help pump #2 hold.

 Disabled as before.  2100 USS Auk cast off from alongside.  2310 USS 
 Rauen cast off from alongside. Tug Cherokee continued towing.
